Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund Reporting for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students

Under the reporting guidelines established by the Department of Education’s Office of Postsecondary Education, concerning Section 18004 of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) and the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students, Aveda Institute Maryland submits the following information:

  1. This statement shall serve to acknowledge that our institution signed and returned to the US Department of Education the Certification and Agreement – Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students.  We further attest that our institution has used, and/or intends to use, no less than 50 percent of the funds received under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students.
  2. The total amount of funds that Aveda Institute Maryland ha­s received from the Department according to the institution’s Certification and Agreement [for] Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Student is $87,087 for OPE ID 02269700.
  3. The total amount of Emergency Financial Aid Grants distributed to students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act as of July 29, 2020, is $87,087 for OPE ID 02269700.
  4. The estimated total number of students at our institution eligible to participate in programs under Section 484 in Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 and thus eligible to receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act is 83 for OPE ID 02269700.
  5. The total number of students who have received an Emergency Financial Aid Grant to students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act to date is 83 for OPE ID 02269700.
  6. The methodology used by our institution to determine which students received the Emergency Financial Aid Grants was for any student that completed hours and was considered currently attending between the date the school facilities were closed and the date Aveda Institute Maryland received the Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students funds. The funds will be distributed under Section 18004 (a)(1) of the CARES Act.
  7. For Aveda Institute Maryland, students should contact the Director for determinations on student’s eligibility to ­receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants and detailed guidance on how to claim their grant funds.
